When you’re the daughter of a Hall of Fame hockey player nicknamed “The Great One” what choice do you really have but to have a smoking hot daughter.

Who can really speculate what Wayne Gretzky did during or after his professional career. But one thing’s for sure, no one can argue the fact that his daughter is a total babe! Even after having a kid!

Are GRILLS still a thing?

“Rob the jewelry store & tell ’em make me a GRILL.”

Can you say throwback?! I can remember the middle school dance party where everyone knew this song and thought grills were the coolest thing.

But are grills still a thing?

In the hip hop/rap culture, grills can be a symbol of excellence or maybe showing how BAD A$$ you are. Rapper Paul Wall along with others wear grills to represent new money after struggling with poverty. Then you have Ke$ha who’s just rockin’ that look because she can.

And it’s not like grills are cheap either. Some of Wall’s grills cost around 30k.

Even stars like Kim Kardashian, Miley Cyrus and Ryan Lochte have been spotted reppin’ their grills, but then again, not sure I want to follow Miley Cyrus’s footsteps after that last photo shoot. Grills may still be a thing, but hairy armpits should not ever be. Sorry.

From Flava Flav to A$AP Rocky to Paul Wall, we’re not likely to see this trend dying anytime soon.

Tinder v. Bumble

Now-a-days it seems like every college aged kid has some kind of “dating” app on their phone. I put it in quotations because we all know that most people aren’t really on it for dating. If you think people are actually looking for their “Tinderella”, re-read that last sentence again until it sinks in.

Casually hooking up has become the norm for millennials. Don’t deny it. You know it’s true.  So I can safely assume that everyone reading this has either downloaded Tinder or at least knows what it is. Again, Don’t deny it. You know that you have it and secretly swipe during class or at family dinners. And it’s not like it’s something to be ashamed of. Hilary Duff even says she goes on tinder dates. Leonardo Dicaprio has it too. (Now  I know if you didn’t have it you just downloaded it so you can start swiping right.)

Well the downside of Tinder (or amusement) is the extensive amount of guys on it that are just
straight up creepers. Some so much to the point that you’ll just straight up delete the app because you’re sick of getting notifications blowing up on your screaming to the world you’re slutting it up on Tinder (even if you’re actually not). Do I even need to talk about how guys just sit there swiping right ALL DAMN DAY? The guys don’t care what you look like or what you have to say they just want more matches aka more a$$.

Meanwhile all the ladies are doing is swiping left.

So is that it? Are we all going to die alone or sit on our couch chugging wine and eating Ben & Jerry’s for the rest of our lives? (Actually that wouldn’t be so bad.)

Wait, no. We’re not. We’re going to go on dates. And we will find some good ones.

Solution: The new guy in town- Bumble. (And I’m not talking about the snowman from Rudolph the red nosed reindeer.)

Bumble kinda lets you avoid all those weirdos, but still has the same concept.

Once you have matched (both have to “like” each other like on Tinder), only the girl can message the guy first. Aka ladies are totally wearing the pants in this app. If she doesn’t within 24 hours the connection goes away. In other words, if you change your mind, little Mikey Smith from Downtown goes bye, bye!

Because of this, most of the guys on Bumble tend to be super confident (aka hot) and less likely to be a total loser. For example, for all you jersey chasers out there, there are some pro athletes on it. For all you gold diggers, there are some big time entrepreneurs too. And unlike Tinder where you might match with say “Chandler Parsons” three times (as three different names), these guys actually exist.

My vote: Bumble. (DUH)

Speed Stick “The Journey” Commercials. Just, Yes.

I never thought I would say this but I actually enjoyed an advertisement that popped up before I wanted to watch a YouTube video the other day. I kid you not when I say I watched the whole dang two minutes of it. Then I even went further and clicked another one of the commercials to watch because the first one was so good.

I don’t know about you, but I feel like that’s got to be a record of some sorts. I was actually diverted from what I had looked up to spend five minutes of my time to watch these instead.

The GOAT of women’s tennis. Williams is a GOD in the tennis world. I’m surprised she doesn’t have a shrine at Wimbledon yet. Or you know a graveyard for all her opponents. She is ranked number one in women’s singles and is the champion for the Australian Open, US Open, French Open and WTA Tour Championships. She has more wins than the amount of times Kanye looks at himself in the mirror a day. DAYUM. There is no doubt that Serena Williams is the greatest female tennis player of all time. Oh did we mention she has a twin sister? But you already knew that 😉 We rock with you girl! And your sis!

9. Antonija Misura

Misura is a Croatian basketball player from Yugoslavia. She is a point guard and a shooting guard. She has played for the national team in the 2009 Mediterranean Games, EuroBasket Women 2011 and the 2012 Olympics.

8. Skylar Diggins

Model Behavior! Diggins is a WNBA player for the Tulsa Shock and a model. She was drafted in the first round in the 2013 draft after a stellar career at Notre Dame. Diggins is the Irish’s all-time leading scorer with 2,357 points. In 2014, she won the WNBA Most Improved Player and was a WNBA All-Star. You can also catch her in Sports Illustrated.

7. Gina Carano

Carano is an MMA fighter from Dallas, TX. She is also an actress and fitness model. Carano was ranked the third best fighter in the world and was featured in Maxim and ESPN The Magazine. Carano was “Crush” on the TV hit American Gladiators.

6. Lolo Jones

Jones is an American track and field athlete who ran the 60 and 100 meter hurdles. She is one of the few athletes that has competed in both the Winter and Summer Olympic games. She holds the American record for the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 7.72 seconds. She is coming off shoulder surgery, but looks to be back at the 2016 games.

5. Silje Norendal

This Norwegian snowboarder is straight up melting the snow with her fire. She competes in the halfpipe, slopestyle and boarder cross and let’s just say her trophy case is pretty solid. She won a gold medal at the Winter X Games Europe in Tignes in 2013 and won a gold medal at the Winter X Games in Aspen in 2014. She added another gold medal this past January when she came in first in the Women’s Snowboard Slopestyle in Aspen. TCD is on board with you Silje!

4. Sydney Leroux

Originally from Canada, Leroux moved to the United States and played soccer at UCLA. She was selected as the number one draft pick in the 2012 WPS Draft by the Atlanta Beat. Leroux was a part of the 2012 Women’s team that won the gold medal in London. She made her way back to Canada as a member of the 2015 U.S. Women’s World Cup team, where they defeated Australia 3-1.

3. Ronda Rousey

Rowdy Ronda Rousey. This girl is a straight baddie. How could anyone forget when Rousey defeated Cat Zingano with an arm bar in 14 seconds? The fastest time in UFC Championship history! UHM WHAT! She is the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion and Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion. Her next fight is scheduled in Brazil against Bethe Correia, which should be quite the match up! ICYMI: Check out our preview here! You also might have seen her in the films Furious 7 and the new Entourage movie where she throws DOWN… as expected, of course.

2. Danica Patrick

Well obviously this list wouldn’t be complete with Ms. Patrick and her sexy Go Daddy commercials! I mean, she’s a race car driver and a model. Need I say more? She is the most successful woman in American open-wheel racing. In 2013, Patrick was the first woman NASCAR driver to win a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Pole. She got some disappointing news recently, when she was not chosen to be driving in F1 for the new Gene Haas team in 2016. It’s okay Danica, TCD still loves you!

Numero UNO, Alex Morgan. She’s hot af and she kicks ass. You probably remember Morgan from the Olympic games in London in 2012. She was a part of the Women’s soccer team that took the gold. Morgan was the number one draft pick in 2011 and already has five years of international experience. She is on the U.S. national team for this upcoming World Cup, but her playing time is unsure due to a bruised bone in her left knee. But seriously look at that photo. Smoking hot.

There you have it. These women are beautiful, talented and can kick some serious ass. Enough said.

The “Dad Bod”

It’s the latest trend to sweep the U.S.

 

And to the much misfortune of us ladies, guys are under the impression that we love it?

The “Dad Bod.”

Reality Check, WE DON’T. The dad bod is a balance between working out and rocking the beer belly. According to TheOdyssey.com, the dad bod states “I go to the gym occasionally, but I also drink occasionally on the weekends and enjoy eating eight slices of pizza at a time.” In other words, these guys want to show us how committed they are to looking good, but also show us their commitment to drinking beer.

The dad bod is obviously popular amongst the older crowd hence it’s name, but it seems to be being taken over by retired frat boys who still think they can party like they are in college, but skip the gym. Maybe girls are loving it, because it takes away the need for us to workout and we don’t feel fat or intimidated?

No. I’m still not loving it.

But really, why should we workout and look hot if they are going to slack off? What if we decided to start a new trend called the “Mom Bod”? Oh, they would hate it.

At least with the dad bod he isn’t going to be opposed to watching you eat or drink just about everything because if he does, HELLO MOM BOD!

Sorry boys, but this is one trend we’re not catching on to. We’ll stick to Zac Efron thanks! (But we still love you Seth Rogan!)
