10 Betchy Ways to Wear A Floppy Hat

Who doesn’t love a good hat? Whether it’s a cute fedora or your old man’s baseball cap, hats are great. But nothing, and I mean NOTHING beats a cute FLOPPY HAT.

You can dress it up or dress it down, whether you’re spending the day at the beach or getting dressed up for that cutie at work. There are SO many ways you can wear it, here are just a few!

1. To A Music Festival

Paired with a cute, flowy sundress, fun flats, and lots of jewelry, a floppy hat would be absolutely perfect for any music festival (Day One Outfit: Check!)

2. With A Fishtail Braid

Fishtail braids can be tricky. Sometimes hair falls out the backside, but luckily, a floppy hat is just the solution! The hat will help cover those pesky, stray hairs that have fallen out of the braid and help to make your look seem effortless, but done on purpose.

3. With An All-Black Ensemble

Ya girl’s favorite color is definitely pink, but six out of seven days you will catch me wearing a lot of, if not all, BLACK. So why not top off your all-black outfit with a cute betchy hat to help pull your outfit together?! Match black ankle booties, a black oversized t-shirt dress and a black leather vest with your betchy black floppy hat.

4. A Day At The Beach

No one likes getting a sunburn, and you could say I’m sunscreen obsessed, especially when it comes to my face! So wear your sunscreen and protect your pretty face with a big floppy hat! Any color will due. This is one look that will never fade away.

Everyone loves a good floral ensemble, and a floppy hat will be just the ticket to pull together this look. You’ll look bohemian meets classy, and how could you go wrong with a look like that!

Because let’s be honest, what’s betchier than Sex and the City’s Samanta Jones *discretely* checking out her sexy LA neighbor with that amazingly oversized floppy hat? Absolutely nothing, that’s what.

We Like Big Buns

It’s the new easy style that everyone seems to be doing (including myself).

I’m not going to give her the credit because I’m not a fan of hers, but Ariana Grande did wear it first (although many people wear it better, just saying!)

Dress it up or leave it casual. It’s perfect for brunch, a game, a date or anything in between.

I normally use a little hair clip, but a rubber band works great also. To switch it up add a braid. Super cute.

There’s also the option of putting all your hair up into a bun.

So top buns ARE A GO! And enough with the man buns… They have GOT TO GO!

People, it is Summer 2015 and it is time to start showing off that BOOTY!

Here’s a motto I live by: “The smaller, the better!” That is, for bikini bottoms. 😉

Americans have finally begun to embrace the European trends of wearing cheeky Brazilian cut suits and even thongs! Bikini’s should emphasize a woman’s body and give maximum exposure, not cover it!

10 Must-Haves In Your Wardrobe (Ladies)

Every girl wants to be a head-turner when they walk into the room and look like that fashion blogger wearing the $5,000 dollar outfit that swears you can get everything at Forever 21 for under $45.

For those of you still violently searching through the mess pile that is Forever 21, let me save you some time, and let you know you’re not going to look like a walking advertisement in a $15 skirt unless your name is Cara Delevingne and then which, you work that skirt girl!

However, there are ways to have a killer, blog-worthy wardrobe that doesn’t cost a million dollars. It’s time to embrace the phrase “quality over quantity.”

If you know me, then you know I like simple. Who doesn’t like simple?

My wardrobe consists of black, white, and denim. (Am I color blind- quite possibly. And yes, it is by choice.) But, from years of experience, I know that simple works. If you want to pull off the best-dressed, but no effort look, then do yourself a favor and invest in these 10 items that you can mix and match and look good while doing it!

Floppy Hats, Cuban Cigars and Mint Juleps- We’re Talking The Belmont Stakes, DUH

Bold and Brilliant.

Two words to describe the fashion of the 2015 Belmont Stakes in Long Island, New York this year.

For those of you who are unaware, The Belmont Stakes is an all day horse racing event lasting from 11am-9pm and the spectators consist of New York’s mint julep drinking, floppy hat wearing, cigar puffing elite. Like, you might as well be in an episode of Gossip Girl (Ugh, sigh. Moment of silence to you GG, TCD still binge watches the glorious Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf on Netflix.)

So yes, being comfortable is key for a nearly 12 hour event, but with a crowd like this, you don’t want to be caught in the wrong get up.

It is tradition that women wear large, colorful and eccentric hats. Most are adorned with lace, flowers, peacock feathers, elaborate designs and every one is unique.

Men usually opt for a more “southern gentleman” attire with bow ties, sear sucker suits, suspenders, fedoras and blazers.

This year however was a bit different, with American Pharoah having the opportunity to win the first Triple Crown in over 37 years. The name “American Pharoah” had men and women a like dressing in red, white and blue and wearing gold Egyptian pharaoh (notice the change in spelling because we are now talking about Egyptian royalty) head dresses.

As far as race attendants, the demographic is completely widespread. The younger crowd tends to stay in the grandstand area with beers taking photos, while the older crowd stays in their seats puffing on cigars, checking their bets and reminiscing on the old days of Secretariat and Seabiscuit. But one thing is for sure, The Belmont has been around for 147 years and the fashion will ALWAYS be a tradition in it’s own right. This year however was one for the record books, if you know what I mean.  😉

Should I Stay or Should I Go? Male Golfers Changing the Fashion Game

Should the new fashion trends for golf apparel stay or get left behind? Say goodbye to un-logoed polos and loose-fitting, pleated khakis and say hello to bright, patterned or should I say LOUD polos and pants.

Are they “overdoing” it? More like they’re KILLIN’ it. 

Golf alone is incredibly boring to watch on TV (Golf fans, you know it’s true), so why not give us something FUN to look at! I love the new fashion trends: the flat brim hats (as seen on Justin Bieber), the oversized belt buckles, the pants with slits at the bottom and NEON apparel. In fact, if you didn’t know, some of these trends go way back in golf starting with Greg Norman.

From simple plaid, pastel prints and magenta windbreakers, Norman broke in the color statements first. He now even has his own line of golf apparel.

But it was really Ian Poulter who changed the game, the style game that is. Poulter came out with his own fashion line IJP Fashion, sporting bright pinks and chevron prints that were considered flashy for such a conservative sport. Little did those fans know this trend would only get bigger and bigger.

But if anyone knows how to wear these new trends well now, it’s Rickie Fowler.

Let’s be real, not many men can wear a uni-colored ensemble and still look sexy. Even if it was just for an inside joke. Honestly, that makes it even cuter.

Fowler has taken Arnold Palmer and Steve Ballesteros’ timeless style and has created an out-of-the-ordinary style that will go down in history.

 

His style may not be considered as ballsy as Poulter’s, but we’re still digging it.

Also, if you did not know, fashion circulates. What was in style many years ago is now back in style.

So, if you hate on these new fun trends, you can take a deep breath and calm down because the boring golf apparel trends will eventually come back, but let’s pray that doesn’t happen any time soon.

Like I’m thinking instead of this whole traditional green jacket we move with the times and make it the paisley or pin striped jacket? Just a thought.

Bottom line, keep doing what you’re doing boys, because you sure are keeping us TCD girls entertained!
