Club W… Stands for #Wine #Winning or Both?

IMG_0318

For someone so familiar with wine like myself, I was completely UNFAMILIAR with Club W until checking out the site and boy was I pleasantly surprised. To update you, you may have seen advertisements for Club W via Facebook.

Their slogan: Quality Wine. No middleman. Saving YOU money.

The idea is simple: You fill out six simple questions about flavors that you like, Club W gives you
recommendations and then you receive monthly shipments of wine that you are guaranteed to love- amazing right?
I filled out my own “palate profile” and questions ranged from how I like my coffee, preferences on salt or citrus and how adventurous I am with food and drink.

Here are my results: (NOT A SINGLE BOTTLE IS OVER 13$—HELL I’LL TAKE ALL OF EM’ 😉 )

It was a nice mix of reds and whites and I decided to order three:

1. Laughing Owl Chardonnay

2. Invoke Syrah

3. “Pacificana” Sauvignon Blanc

They also had really cute labels and bottles that I save as flower vases or “Pinterest” inspired candle holders around the house. Once you make your selections it gives you food pairings and recipes to match your wine! You also get 50% off the total of your first purchase as a new customer… So I’m thinking it really can’t get much better than this.

Only CON’s or negatives would be that the wine arrives via Fed Ex and the orders ship within two days and you must sign for your wine. (I suggest shipping to a home address where someone is available at all times or to an office!) Also, the wines do arrive warm (sometimes warmer than what the normal temperatures wines should be stored at.) Not that I’m picky or anything. And hate to break it to ya, but Club Dubyah isn’t in some states. They are unable to ship to the following states: AK, AL, AR, DE, HI, KY, MS, OK, PA, RI, SD and UT.

But hey for the lucky folk like me in shipping range, ORDER UP!

Ariana Grande’s Doing It! Flashback to Singers Who Have Dated their Backup Dancers

Taking after JLO and dating her backup dancer? Way to goo Ariana Grande!ariana-grande-ricky-alvarez

Videos went out of Ariana kissing her backup dancer, Ricky Alvarez. So far Ariana hasn’t commented on the dating rumor, but sources say she’s doing this on purpose.

After the twitter stunt for getting mad at people labeling her as Big Sean’s ex, I don’t blame her for trying to keep it hush hush.

She isn’t the first to do this. Don’t we remember…

No, No Neymar! Suspended for Two More Games

10986829986_e554416c93_o

Brazil will be without it’s most popular player (and captain) Neymar, for another two games.

Neymar was suspended for four games on June 17th following a 1-0 loss to Colombia. There were a couple things that led to his suspension.

1. Received a yellow card for a handball after a blocked attempt on goal

2. Kicked the ball at opponent Pablo Armero

3. Tried to headbutt opponent Jeison Murillo, receiving a red card

4. Supposedly verbally abused referee after the game heading into the dressing room tunnel

Well, I guess that will do it.

Neymar was originally suspended two games, until news broke about the verbal abuse. Brazil went on to play Venezuela and won 2-1. They then lost 4-3 to Paraguay thus knocking them out of the tournament.

1078px-Messi_with_Neymar_Junior_the_Future_of_BrazilThis is important because with the loss, Neymar has only sat out two games. The other two games will carry over to the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign.

What a loss for Brazil.

However, if you need Neymar back for a game, this match up with Argentina on November 17th would be the one. Hint, Hint: Messi.

Okay Neymar… Please keep your hands, feet, head and words to yourself. We want to see you on the field in November!

Drink of the Week: Strawberry Basil Margarita

Screen Shot 2015-05-29 at 10.22.54 AM

Who doesn’t love a good margarita, am I right? Not much sounds better than coming home from a long day at work and whipping up a quick and easy margarita. Or two. Or three. Or, screw it, four. Heck, who says you can only consume these after work? I mean, it is 5 o’clock somewhere! Just make sure to make some yummy tacos to enjoy these with! #tacosandtequila

Ingredients:

1 cup chopped strawberries
¼ tequila (approximately 2 shots)
2 tablespoons agave (any kind works)
3 large basil leaves
8 ice cubes
Juice of half a lime
Juice of half an orange

Prep Time: 4 minutes
Mixing time: 2 minute
Total time: 6 minutes

Directions:

  1. Combine strawberries, tequila, agave, basil, ice cubes, and fruit juices in a blender
  2. Mix on medium until smooth
  3. Add the ice and puree until the ice is completely crushed (about 1 minute)
  4. OPTIONAL: Salt the rim of the glass
  5. Pour into glass and enjoy
  6. Repeat step 5
  7. Repeat step 6
  8. Repeat step 7 if you’re feeling fun!
Let’s be real, you know us TCD girls will be!
